Largest Ancient Metalworking Site Discovered in Georgia

Archaeologists have uncovered a 3,000-year-old Bronze Age copper-smelting and metal workshop in Doghurashi, in the Lechkhumi region of the Republic of Georgia. Dating back to between the 13th and 9th centuries BC, it's the largest ancient metalworking site ever discovered in the area once known as Colchis.

According to the source, the discovery was made by archaeologists from the National Museum of Georgia in collaboration with international researchers.
